Safety a Top Priority as International Travel Returns

Indoor living and stay-at-home orders took priority in 2020 as Covid-19 turned the world as we know it upside down. Our guests’ safety has been a top priority and is the motivation behind our new health and safety protocols.

But as the planet crawls out of those dark days and heads toward a brighter future, getting out of the house and onto an airplane is becoming more and more commonplace. Many people who’ve been cooped up for more than a year want to venture abroad and experience the world again, and they want to do it in a manner that is safe and intelligent.

Costa Rica was one of the first countries to open its doors to foreign visitors during the pandemic. At first, business was slow as international travelers remained apprehensive and many countries prevented citizens from leaving at all. As those restrictions have loosened, the rental market in Dominical has once again taken off to almost pre-2020 levels, with 2022 looking like a particularly hot time for tropical vacations.

Vaccines have also played an important role in consumer confidence. A large percentage of our recent guests have been happy to divulge that they received a Covid-19 vaccine before visiting Costa Rica. At YouGetHere Property Management, we consider this a wise travel decision to protect not only yourself and your family, but also the local community you are spending time in.

Keeping our properties as clean and sanitized as possible has been a top priority for our staff since the border reopened. As part of our new health and safety protocols, we now leave two full days open for deep cleaning between each stay at all of our rental homes. This means no more same-day turnover with only minimal time between guests. When you enter a home managed by YouGetHere, rest easy knowing that the house has been vacated for at least 48 hours and sanitized thoroughly.

In recent months, Covid testing has become much simpler as well. Visitors can now take same-day Antigen tests at the international airport in San Jose, or they can do 24-hour PCR tests in the same location. If you’d like to get your Covid test done a few days before heading to the airport for your return trip, there are testing clinics in Uvita, Quepos and Perez Zeledon, all of which are 45 minutes or less from our rental properties.

After a very long year and a half of not-so-great medical news, the return of international travel is a tremendous sigh of relief for many adventurous spirits. And while there are a few more hoops to jump through to take a vacation these days, just the fact that you’re off the couch, out of the house, and into the tropical sunshine makes it so incredibly worthwhile.

As a whole, Costa Rica is thrilled to welcome visitors from all over the world again. If you’re looking for a place that can really lift your spirits and do so in a safe manner, check out the Dominical area, where our office is centrally located. It’s one of the most beautiful regions on earth, with wildlife, beaches, and jungles that will melt your mind. Let’s be honest, this is a vacation we’ve all earned after a tough start to the decade.

It’s time to get back on the road.
