Connecting to the World in Southern Costa Rica
Internet in Dominical is now a digital nomad’s dream.
But it wasn’t always this way. Less than a decade ago, this quaint surfing town nestled in the southwest corner of tantalizing Costa Rica had some pretty poor internet signal.
In those ancient days — when we’d all somehow walk uphill both to and from work in the tropical snow — you’d visit Dominical and, if you were lucky, your rental house would have a plug-in internet stick. You could fire off an email or two if the wind was blowing in the proper direction, but streaming video, posting on social media, or just about anything else was almost impossible.
Fast-forward to the 2020s and Dominical is now an internet-streaming paradise. The weather is still warm, the ocean temperature continues to be perfect to the touch and the wild jungle animals remain aplenty, but the internet signal throughout town has taken drastic steps forward by virtue of various fiber-optic, cable, and satellite WiFi providers.
It’s a welcomed change for visitors, expats, and locals who rely on strong internet in a world where working and going to school from afar is now commonplace.
At YouGetHere Property Management, we are responsible for maintaining nearly two-dozen vacation rental properties. These are some of the finest rental homes in the region, and we’re constantly looking for ways to improve the vacation experience for all of our clients. One way we’ve done this is by beefing up the internet strength and reliability at many of our rental homes.
Fast Internet in Costa Rica Vacation Villas:
Our Caballitos Del Mar villas, for example, all come equipped with 75-100 mbps of internet speed. Finding quality rental homes directly on the beach is very tough in this area, so to be able to list any of these three incredible beachfront properties while offering the strongest internet signal in the area is a fantastic addition to our stable of rental options. With nine total bedrooms in the three villas, renting the entire Caballitos Del Mar Complex is a great choice for groups with up to 21 guests total. And since the beach is right in front of the property, perhaps the kids won’t spend too much time online anyway!
Two other properties, the immaculate Whale Watcher Villa and the uber-cool Casa Pura Vida, both offer internet speeds in the 75-100 mbps range as well. These are fantastic rental options for quick internet, as well as easy convenience to local beaches and towns.
Several other YouGetHere rental homes are now offering at least 25 mbps of WiFi speed. They include Casa Bella Vita, Casa Tsio, Villa Koora, Paraiso Encontrado, Casa Tilli,
Casa Alta Vista and Brisa Hermosa.
These are rental options with anywhere from three to five bedrooms, and all of these homes can be viewed on the “Villas” link here: https://yougethere.com/villas/
As we all move closer and closer to a digital existence, it’s probably a good idea to remember that the reason you’re visiting a place like Dominical, Costa Rica is because you want to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. The less time in front of a monitor, the better.
But … it’s also fun to post pictures of monkeys on social media — and sloths, talk about racking up the likes! — and now you don’t have to wait until you get to the airport to fire off those photos.
Have an important business call on Zoom or an online class for school? All good, you can do it from the comfort of your rental home with fast internet and a warm Costa Rica coffee in hand.
And that’s what we call the best of both worlds. So don’t hesitate, contact YouGetHere Property Management today at [email protected] and we can assist in finding a rental option that fits your work, school and vacation needs. Around here, we call this the power of Pura Vida!
