Neil, the property manager, was exceedingly helpful and friendly upon our arrival and offered many suggestions of local restaurants and places to visit while on our vacation. He was very thorough in providing a tour of the house as we arrived and made sure we would be able to contact him if with any problems or questions during our stay.
In addition, he was always very prompt in replying to my e-mails and questions during the preliminary rental process and made our home rental plans efficient and worry-free.
I would not hesitate to use Neil as our contact person for any future visits to the Dominical and Southern Pacific region of Costa Rica.

Casa Bellavia

Experience authentic Balinese architecture at Casa Bellavia, a luxurious 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath villa nestled in the lush tropics of a Costa Rican rainforest.

From the moment you arrive at Casa Bellavia, you will be enchanted by the exceptional mix of cultural elements and nature. The exotic location in the land of Pura Vida blends elegantly with the Balinese craftsmanship of this unique villa, where it’s immersed between the Pacific Ocean and the jungles rivers to the east.

All materials and decor were hand-selected, designed and constructed in Bali, then painstakingly deconstructed and brought to this majestic 28-acre eco-reserve to ensure it’s complete authenticity with high-quality Balinese building standards.

In keeping with Balinese tradition, the layout at Casa Bellavia moves through a sequence of pavilions, each incorporating authentic floor-to-ceiling glasswork, exotic teak and natural stone. The 14-foot glass walls and vaulted ceilings create an airy open-floor plan, inviting soothing sounds of the nearby river, the cooling breezes off the ocean and a 180-degree panoramic sea view that’s second to none.

Just a 10-minute drive from the coastal highway, Casa Bellavia welcomes its guest with a beautifully landscaped entrance bordered by crystalline ponds, a row of swaying palms and serene Balinese statues and sculptures. Even the meticulous details in the woodworking of the front door will impress you. Slipping off your sandals and shoes as you enter the inside of the home -- we ask all guests to do this to preserve the pristine condition of the villa -- a modern and fully-equipped kitchen is off to your left, pairing natural stone countertops with top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances and beautifully crafted wood cabinetry. A breakfast bar and a dining table for six are centrally placed in the spacious room, boasting stunning views out over the terrace and infinity pool to the pacific - where you can watch the waves crashing onto the shore or the sun setting in the distance.

To the right of the dining area is a comfortable living space and sofa for relaxing. The living area is equipped with a flat-screen television, air-conditioning, internet tv service, wifi and Bose speakers throughout. Just past the living area is the master bedroom where no detail has been overlooked.

The decor and design of the master bedroom are impeccable and create a harmony with the terrace and balcony outside, creating indoor-outdoor living style at its finest. Equipped with a queen bed and lounge area complete with a mini-fridge and two types of coffee makers, mornings have never been so exquisite. Watch the sunrise through the huge windows, sip your fresh-brewed complimentary coffee, and for an experience of complete relaxation, step into the master bath where four luxurious bathing options await; an indoor shower with steam option, a large stand-alone soaking tub or the refreshing experience of an outdoor natural stone shower surrounded by bamboo and river rock.

Two additional pavilions are laid out around the courtyard and include queen beds, en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and ocean or garden views. Both bedrooms open out onto terraces in keeping with the Balinese tradition of blending natural landscapes with breezy living spaces. Behind the garden room pavilion is an outdoor space perfect for yoga or bird-watching, as well as an indoor fitness room that may be reserved at additional cost.

At Casa Bellavia, reconnecting with nature is as easy as dipping into the 12-meter rock-bottom pool and watching the toucans soar lazily overhead. The courtyard and infinity pool are complete with a sunken outdoor lounge sofa with a touch-button firepit. A covered deck includes an outdoor table and nearby are four lounge chairs and two large umbrellas to provide the utmost comfort for our guests.

As you meander through the courtyards and beautifully landscaped tropical gardens you will also find a deck for yoga, reading or gazing at the views as well as a manicured trail that leads you on a 5-minute stroll into the rainforest. Coconuts and bananas are within reach, and always keep on the lookout for sloths, monkeys, toucans, parrots on your way to the private and secluded natural escape where you can listen to the sounds of flowing water and see two creeks converge in this peaceful paradise.

A private locked area is available to store your luggage. Casa Bellavia also has friendly onsite staff that reside is a separate casita further down the driveway. Use the handy walkie-talkie for communicating your needs as staff is available for cleaning and laundry service upon request. For an extra cost, Casa Bellavia can be pre-stocked with groceries. Transportation, activities and excursions can all be arranged by your concierge prior to your vacation, as well as in-home chef and massage services.

When it comes to a first-class vacation experience, Casa Bellavia is without peer in Costa Rica’s southern Pacific coastline.

Over the top!
What a wonderful place! We were looking for somewhere with privacy and comfort...anything else would be a plus. Boy...did we get more! My wife and I both felt it was the most amazing time we've had together in 35 years of marriage! The house is even more beautiful than the pictures's just amazing...and it would seem no detail was left unattended. I particularly loved taking a steam shower every morning (didn't think I'd want to do something like that in Central America but it was super!) and then showering outside in the private rain shower just outside the steam room door! The views of the ocean are fantastic and you can hear the waves all day on the pool side of the house and rushing water sounds from creeks down in the jungle on the other side! We spent one morning down a path to this platform in the jungle that is in this open area over looking two streams coming together....and we watched seven monkeys playing in the trees for the longest time! My wife asked what time it was and four hours had felt like a time warp! The beach is super close and easy to get to and our daughters loved it and the other stuff to do that we took advantage of...their favorite being the ATV the house concierge arranged for us. I could go on and on...but a house this beautiful on thirty acres of pure privacy and two lovely people to attend to the house was simply fantastic! We highly recommend!!

A Touch of Heaven
Our entire family LOVED this house. Everything was perfect! The view of the ocean was breathtaking. The house was set back into the rain forest so it was very quiet and serene. We evensaw a few monkey's in the trees. The rain forest is gorgeous. There was something for everyone here. The house was large with plenty of room for our family to spread out, but it also had plenty of spaces for us all to be together. It was spotless when we arrived and came equipped with absolutely everything you could think of and many things you didn't think of (washer/dryer, dishwasher, linens, cleaning supplies, utensils, cooking supplies, etc.) - we didn't need to bring one thing. The beach is just across the main highway that you can enjoy it without people stepping over you. There are not many people out there. We had our own private beach. Honestly, the photos online did not do this house justice. We had an amazing family vacation and would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for the wonderful vacation home. We will be back.
