Neil, the property manager, was exceedingly helpful and friendly upon our arrival and offered many suggestions of local restaurants and places to visit while on our vacation. He was very thorough in providing a tour of the house as we arrived and made sure we would be able to contact him if with any problems or questions during our stay.
In addition, he was always very prompt in replying to my e-mails and questions during the preliminary rental process and made our home rental plans efficient and worry-free.
I would not hesitate to use Neil as our contact person for any future visits to the Dominical and Southern Pacific region of Costa Rica.

Description

Welcome to the new and improved Casa Las Terrazas. Since undergoing a major renovation in the summer of 2015, this incredible vacation villa is back and better than ever.

Now featuring a pair of wrap-around decks on the second and third floors, five bedrooms all equipped with air-conditioning units, a crow’s nest on the top floor that can serve as a sixth bedroom, and all new appliances and furniture throughout the home, Casa Las Terrazas has been transformed into an ideal vacation getaway for large groups of friends and family.

Nestled in the upscale hillside community of Escaleras, Casa Las Terrazas has some of the finest ocean views in all of Costa Rica. From the deck of the villa’s extraordinary infinity pool, guests have ideal sightlines toward the Pacific Ocean below, including unabated views of the world famous Whale’s Tail in Uvita. The infinity pool has everything you’ll need to get comfortable, including lounge chairs, umbrellas, coolers and pool toys. Even the outdoor pool shower has a magnificent view of the mighty Pacific below. All told, there may not be a better place to tan on the entire planet!

Just beyond the pool sits a relaxing bodega, where guest can sip coffee while watching the morning toucans take flight, or mix cocktails during the afternoon sunset to the sound of howler monkeys in the trees.

The house itself has everything you’ll need for a modern, upscale vacation. There is wireless internet, television, state-of-the-art appliances including a dishwasher, microwave, stove, oven and a washer/dryer unit. Three of the five bedrooms feature on-suite bathrooms and showers, while the other two bedrooms share a bathroom and shower. In addition, there is a fifth restroom downstairs near the laundry room.

Of all the new additions and upgrades, the wrap-around decks are really something spectacular. These decks have amazing jungle-to-sea-views, and are complete with multiple celling fans, chairs, tables and even a comfortable couch. Odds are you’ll be spending a lot of time relaxing on these decks while listening to the natural music of the surrounding jungle.

With the additional crow’s nest on the top floor, which has its own bed, Casa Las Terrazas can easily accommodate a dozen guests.

The villa itself is located approximately 10 minutes off the coastal highway, directly in-between the towns of Dominical to the north and Uvita to the south. Reaching either town by car takes less than 20 minutes. Each place – Dominical and Uvita – feature restaurants, shopping, banks and grocery stores. Uvita also has a pair of pharmacies. There is also a very popular bar and restaurant on the mountain, Bar Jolly Roger, that serves quality food, cold beer and has live music. Bar Jolly Roger is a 3-minute drive from the villa, or a 10-minute walk.

Outdoor activities abound in this area of the country. While staying at Casa Las Terrazas, you’ll be within a short drive of all kinds of great tours, including canopy zip lines, river rafting, surfing, paragliding, waterfall rappelling, ATV adventures, horseback rides, snorkeling, kayaking and much more.

There are many options when choosing a luxury villa in southern Costa Rica, but few can match the uniqueness, style and modern comfort of Casa Las Terrazas. This truly is a place where a weeklong vacation can make memories that last a lifetime.

Amazing stay
This was an amazing place to stay. There were 11 of us that stayed in the house, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The house also has AC, which is great - it gets hot! The view is absolutely incredible; you could easily not leave the house and have an amazing time! Although this is obviously not recommended, as there is plenty to do in the area. One more thing - 4-wheel drive is a must. Do not try to go without it. The highways are in great shape in Costa Rica. The same cannot be said for other side roads. You will enjoy your stay; no question about it! This is the most beautiful scenery I have ever encountered.

Paradise
Just got back from a amazing trip staying in a absolutely stunning home. They should call this house the Toucan house due to all the toucans you see daily. The home was larger than expected and was very clean. The staff at Get you there were great and very attentive. If you want to see monkeys you need to get up at 5 am and walk down the path or road to the left. There is a fresh mango tree that supplies abundant mangos that were delicious. The view is also amazing from the house. We will definelty come back again.

Stunning House in an Amazing Spot on Earth
We just returned from a 5 night stay at Casa Las Terrazas in Costa Rica and it was one of the most incredible places we have ever been. We are world travellers and this house and place in the jungle topped our list of places we have been. 10 of us stayed in the house and we had 2 beds open because the house is so big. Every morning and night we had Toucans on the property and could hear monkeys everywhere. We felt very safe and secure in the house. The house is beautifully remodeled and appears brand new! The views of the jungle and ocean are unparalleled. It's a 10 minutes drive to the main highway and only 20 minutes max from many beaches and towns. This is THE house to stay in if you are looking for a private experience accessible to tons of awesome things to do. Can't say enough good things about this house and spot in the secluded but easily accessible place in the jungle. The management team that we dealt with from beginning to end was amazing. The check in and check out was so easy and everyone speaks perfect English. We had a person meet us in a nearby town and he escorted us to the property and gave us the keys and a full rundown of the house and nearby tours, stores restaurants, etc. Trip, house, and experience of a lifetime.

Casa Las Terrazas
We stayed at casa las terrazas in January 2016, and the place is unbelievable!  The house is completely remodeled, with great views of the ocean, whale's tail and sunset from all rooms of the house.  There are multiple decks with fans to take a break from the sun and keep cool while still enjoying the beautiful views, and sounds of monkeys, toucans and other wildlife in the area. We had 6 people stay in the house during our stay, but could have comfortably fit 6 more.  The bedrooms are large, and multiple rooms have access to one of the decks. You won't want to leave the gorgeous infinity pool! But when you do there are many places to relax outside. Neil and Stephen were helpful at giving us tips for the stay, as well as provide an informational book with local restaurants, activities and grocery stops.  They were also easily available for questions or concerns throughout the week.  The kitchen has all the necessary appliances, (plus some), to do cooking at the house if you desire. The drive up to the house definitely requires AWD, but is a fun drive and quite scenic during the day. The drive from the house to Uvita or Dominical is about 10-15min, making it easy to stop in either city for exploring or a beach day.  I would highly recommend this property for your stay in Costa Rica!

An Absolute Perfect Paradise!
This was our first time visiting Costa Rica and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were in paradise.  Casa Las Terrazas is stunning - clean and comfortable with everything one could need to have a relaxing vacation (including a blender for frozen rum drinks!).  The house was workable for 3 couples, including 4 children - the 2 boys slept on an air mattress on the second level landing floor.  The property is very private and extremely well kept - and the views are so much more impressive than the pictures capture.  Our favorite place to hang out was the gazebo overlooking the Whale's Tail.  Even in the hot weather, there was always a comfortable breeze under the shady canopy - a perfect place to enjoy a slushy rum punch and a good book.
A couple points worth mentioning... 1. A 4X4 is a MUST.  While most of the roads are paved, the road up to house is packed dirt with lots of bumps and steep inclines.  One couple had arranged for a 4X4 and when they arrived to pick up the car they were told there were no 4X4s available.  They were given a Toyota Corolla.  While they did make it up the hill - an adventure in the best circumstances - it was a close thing.  They ended up not using the car at all until they were able to exchange it for a 4X4 half way through our vacation.  2.  There is a fabulous pub less than a half mile from the house - "The Jolly Roger".  We were there regularly for their AMAZING wings (over 20 different flavors) and storm fries.  DO NOT MISS THIS!Prior to our arrival I worked with Stephen to schedule all our tours, no mean feat when you have 3 families to plan around.  He was most helpful, extremely responsive, and patient with all my questions and and various needs to accommodate 10 people.  When we arrived in Dominical he was waiting for us at his shop and personally escorted us up to the property.  He gave us a brief tour, efficiently worked through the administrative stuff, and recommended some local places for food and souvenirs, including the Jolly Roger (THANK YOU STEPHEN!).  We had a few issues during our stay, but they were handled promptly and courteously - Stephen was immediately responsive to all our needs. We've all unanimously agreed that we would return to both Dominical and Casa Las Terrazas.  Thank you for a wonderful vacation...  Pura Vida!

Awesome Place!
This was my family's fourth time in the Dominical area and we found this place to be very well suited to our needs.  We  chose this place over others we had previously rented mainly due to the outstanding view.  It lived up to the pictures. The house is exactly as pictured and during our time there the temperature was very comfortable. We had a great time and I would highly recommend this rental.

Toucans, Hummers, Howlers, Oh My!
Absolutely everything that the other reviewers said are true.  We went during the rainy season, but it did NOT put a damper on our fun.  The sun came out enough to offset the rain, and to watch the storms come in was part of the beauty.  The house is exquisitely positioned to take in the views from the infinity pool looking out to the Pacific. We were lucky enough to have howler monkeys visit us on our last day, not to mention daily toucans, hummingbirds, frogs in the evening (looking for Frank), yellow birds, tanagers, and the list goes on.  We loved spending the day exploring knowing that we had a paradise home to return to everyday.  Be sure to hire Presedente and Vicky to prepare a meal for you.  They are excellent! We also did the zip line, waterfalls, national parks (Haciende Baru close by and has a wonderful butterfly garden, just to mention one of its many features) Be sure to have at least a breakfast if not a dinner at Por Que No?  Oh, the food was excellent and the view, magnificent.  I cannot say enough good things about this place. We miss it so much since we've returned home to temperatures in the 20s!  (You may have daily visitors of a few dogs.  They are friendly and have extremely good manners)

Perfect spot to relax
A photo of the view from the pool is on the front of my phone & keeping me going back in the cool of a late London summer… It's simply breathtaking, especially early in the morning and at sunset. Sitting there watching the Toucans, hummingbirds and many butterflies was a highlight of our trip. The pool is also great to swim in & for the kids to play, and the garden is beautiful. The house was really spacious for the four of us and had everything we needed, including good wifi (pre-requisite for teens…). Neil is really helpful, and a source of tons of information about the area. Dominical itself is very laid-back and low key, and there are lots of places to eat & drink, as well as to learn surfing/kayak/stand-up paddle etc. We had a great afternoon walking & zip-lining at Hacienda Baru where the guides are brilliant at spotting wildlife and telling you all about the rainforest (they also do night tours and overnight camping trips), and the walk out to the whale tail at low tide to snorkel is also well worth doing. Travelling in the rainy season was good for us, we had sun for most of the day, then some spectacular rain (warm!) & lightning shows. It's also much less busy than I'd imagine it is in low season. All in all it was a perfect place to relax before heading down to Corcovado

A very special place
First time in Costa Rica with my girlfriend and some friends. Casa Las Terrazas was the perfect place to stay. The views were amazing and the house was great. It was the perfect amount of space for the six of us. Awesome kitchen and grill to cook with and a very well maintained property inside and out. Neil was very helpful in giving us recommendations for activities and food in area. Even for the start of the rainy season, the weather was perfect. Dominical is a lazy coastal town perfect for all ages, especially for us (mid 20s). It was hard to leave Casa Las Terrazas but we will definitely be back!

Perfection
This property is a dream. It was in pristine condition- clearly maintained at the highest standards. The layout was perfect: the bedrooms, the bathrooms, the porch, the pool area, the kitchen, is laid out for maximum comfort but also to highlight in every possible way the amazing view the property boasts. Everything points to that view, which was a highlight- waking up every morning to see the beauty of the countryside and beach was priceless! I can't recommend this place more- we felt like VIPs, and made us really fall in love with Costa Rica. We'll be back!

Pacifica
If you are looking for an amazing house with breath taking views and tons of character them look no further. This was my first trip to Costa Rica and it definitely will not be my last. This house is close to anything there is to do in Costa Rica. As soon as I walked in the front door I immediately felt like I was at not in someone else's house but in my own home. I can't describe how wonderful this property is so you are going to have to see it for yourself.

I can't believe I waited so long
I have traveled to Costa Rica for over 15 years and never stayed in Dominical - I can't believe I waited so long. The jungle is lush (even in the dry season), the Pacific is mesmerizing, and Casa Las Terrazas captures both. The house, and surrounding, beautifully maintained grounds, were very tranquillizing, and it was a pleasure to listen to the jungle life wake up each morning, and begin to bed-in at sunset - pura vida. I especially enjoyed sleeping in the Crow's Nest and listening to the howler monkeys each morning. The infinity pool cannot be described - I spent hours at the end of the infinity staring at the panoramic Pacific and the Whale's Tail - thinking about very little, I am proud to admit. Neil was the quintessential host - he was a wealth of information and a genuine pleasure. If the description and pictures of Casa Las Terrazas interest you, then commit, because no description or photographs could adequately describe this piece of paradise. Your stay will be memorable, relaxing, and you will leave refreshed and rejuvenated. Thank you Jerry and Neil.

Awesome Vacation
We have traveled quite a bit but this was one of our best vacations ever. The house was amazing and it was just like how it was described in the website. The kitchen had all the amenities that we needed. We all loved the infinity pool and of course that amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. Seeing Whale's Tail from the house provoked our need to go see it in person. It took us a time or two to find it but when we did it was worth the time. We saw toucan's everyday flying around the area of the house and even a couple very up close by the pool. We did not see any howler monkeys but we did hear them. We had a varying range of ages and interests in our group of seven but we all found many things that we wanted to do and accomplished them. I would strongly suggest the waterfall tour, it was amazing but the water was freezing but definelty worth it. I am recovering from back surgery and did not want to risk the horse ride but they offered a pick up ride instead. That worked out great for all of us, it had padded benches in the bed so it was comfortable. This tour comes with breakfast and lunch, both of the meals were really good. For the price it was a real deal. Of course some of our group did the zip line through the rain forest and they all came back with many stories. Everyone enjoyed that but they did say if you are afraid of heights it may not be for you. We loved all the mom & pop restaurants along the road sides, we never had a bad meal. We did go into Dominical one evening and had tapas at Confusione Tapas Restaurant, it was wonderful. We all agreed when we return to this amazing area and property we need to plan a two week vacation, one week was not enough. Neil was great with arranging all the tours we wanted and helping us navigate the area. He even helped to arrange a wedding for us at the house. We have the most wonderful pictures from the wedding. The ceremony was held under the tiki hut and our bouquets were made by a local woman from flowers and greenery on the property. This definelty will not be a trip any one of us will ever forget. Thanks so much to Jerry, Theresa and Neil for a perfect vacation.

Visitor from Tomball
What a beautiful place to spend seven wonderful, peaceful, and relaxing, days! The views were incaparable, the house was so comfortable, and the sunsets, sunrises, and stars of night were all breathtaking! If I ever imagined what heaven could be like, I now have a distinct, and visual, idea! I loved gettiing up in the early morning, watching the colors of the sunrise flood the skies, and feeling the clean and fragranced breeze. As the day brightened, waiting for the toucans to come for their breakfast in the palm trees behind the house was pure relaxation! Sunsets are equally beautiful, whether they are viewed from the Playa Dominical, or from the comfort of the house! Our family of six adults enjoyed going to Playa Uvita and Marino Balleno Park; to Hacienda Baru where some of us enjoyed zip-lining; to Manuel Antonio Natural Park to view sloths, local birds and monkeys, Costa Rican frogs, and huge blue morpho butterflies; and to Isla de Cano where we scuba dived, hiked, and even got some deep sea fishing in! We loved eating at the local restaurants, and every meal was good! Just remember, when you are in Costa Rica, time is suspended, and eating a lunch or dinner can take several hours! "Pura Vita" suggests that to savor every day, you must take your time! Most of all, we enjoyed interacting with the people of Costa Rica who are generous, helpful, lovely, and always friendly! Neil was invaluable in making recommendations from eateries to the different types of tours available in the area. Coming to Costa Rica, and to Casa las Terraza, will always be a memory that we will cherish, and will remain with us for a long, long time! Thank you, Jerry and Theresa, for allowing us to share your wonderful home!

Absolute Paradise
Our stay at Casa Las Terrazas was the epitome of paradise. Everything from the private tropical property, excellent pool, amazing views, and bountiful wildlife made our stay enjoyable. We especially loved watching tucans, sloths and other exotic wildlife from the very open and airy house. The long winding dirt road up the mountain to house made for an added sense of adventure - for which a four-wheel drive vehicle is a must. The house is well located between Dominical, a surfer's dream town, and Ulvita, home to the famous Marino Ballena National Park, with both less than 10-15 minutes by car. We spent most of the trip at the local beach in Dominicalito which was very quiet, and did sea kayaking and ziplining south of Ulvita. However, one could easily spend an entire week without leaving the house since there is so much wildlife to see and hear on the property. Niel, the infamous property manager, is extremely friendly and helpful and lives very close in case you need any help. Also, he's British, so you won't have to worry about problems communicating with him. That whole part of the country has the 'pura vida' mentality, which is an excellent way to get away from it all. You won't be disappointed with this house. PS - The Jolly Roger, a local gringo bar walking distance from the house, has some of the best chicken wings in all the Americas.

Sitting on Top of the World
I am so inspired and enthusiastic about this phenomenal property that I am still here, on top of the world, looking at the spectacular view ( just like in the photos, only better!!!), feeling the breeze on my skin, cool as a cucumber, and hoping everyone who thinks of coming here does so. Costa Rica is such a rich and wonderful place, but I just had to duck as another magnificent chestnut mandible toucan came in for a landing. The place has just enough trees to support the many magnificent birds of the area, and there is a tree just beyond the pool where the toucans congregate. How rich is that???? Ahhhhhh!!! As to the house and property they are lovely and well maintained. Last night we cooked a fresh tuna supper from the fish we caught, ate by candlelight on the fully screened in patio ( there is plenty of light, but it was utterly lovely with the candles) and slept like babies in the breeze from the ocean and overhead fan. The house has the feeling of remoteness, but the good news is we are really just a few minutes away from all the wonderful things that the area has to offer. Thanks for making our stay so incredible, and a special thanks to Neil, the super property manager who took the time to check on us and be sure everything was to our liking. In case it isn't clear enough, we highly recommend this property to anyone, from romantics to families.

True Paradise!
After researching countless destinations to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary we found the PERFECT spot! The pictures on the website are beautiful, however, pictures simply cannot do Casa Las Terrazas justice, the home is gorgeous and immaculate, the views are breathtaking! We enjoyed morning coffee on the patio taking in the landscape...mountains in the distance, the ocean all around, no matter where you look every angle is God's created beauty! The grounds are perfectly taken care of by a wonderful gardener, exotic flowers are everywhere, toucans fly from tree to tree and to hear the howler monkeys every day was incredible. The home owner, Jerry, was very helpful answering every question about what to expect on our trip making us feel very at ease. Our vacation and anniversary were perfect thanks to the property manager Neil! Neil went above and beyond, always helpful and one of the nicest people we have had the pleasure of getting to know. Neil recommended restaurants and took care of everything from booking our excursion to taking care of our anniversary reservations. He was always making sure we had whatever we needed and without a doubt made our trip unforgettable! We highly recommend the canopy zip line tour, you will not be disappointed, truly an experience not to be missed! The home is very comfortable and spacious, would be great to go with family and friends. All though to have enjoyed the serenity and peacefulness with just the two of us was priceless, no distractions, no interruptions, just the sounds of the rainforest and the breeze from the hammock! We look forward to returning to Casa Las Terrazas and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for the experience of a lifetime in Costa Rica! Gracias Jerry and Neil!

Paradise 1,200 ft above the Pacific Ocean
My ten days at Casa Las Terrazas were wonderful. The house is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped; the gardens are beautiful. My only dilemma was which view I enjoyed more from the infinity pool--looking out along the south coast of Costa Rica or out to the west, across the Pacific. Then there is the gazebo with its hammock for shady dozing fanned by the gentle breezes. Beautiful landscaped property that is perched on a steep hillside, with natural jungle on all sides. Birds (yes, toucans), butterflies, monkeys, and crickets kept us entertained every day. You have to see the night skies to believe how many stars shine over the Casa Las Terrazas.

Look no more..
If you are thinking about renting Casa Las Terrazas, book it! If you think the pictures are great, wait until you get to see it in person. The entire property is a slice of paradise. The house and pool are perfectly situated to capitalize on the views of the jungle and Pacific. If you are with a group and drawing straws for rooms, cross your fingers that you get the Crow's Nest. Go to sleep with a panorama of stars that you feel like you can reach out and touch. Wake up to the sounds of the jungle and sights that the morning skies offer. Don't miss the Saturday Market in Uvita or perhaps the Thursday market in San Isidro to stock up on everything at it's freshest. After numerous trips to Costa Rica, the stay at Casa Las Terazzas convinced me this area is my next home, In the meantime, this is the place to enjoy the beauty that Costa Rica has to offer and to create memories for a lifetime. I would be remiss not to mention that the property manager Neil did everything to make sure that we were happy, comfortable and well informed about the area. He is an added plus.

Stunning Views, Great House, Fabulous Vacation
My husband, 2 friends and I were absolutely awed by the spectacular views from this lovely house! The large pool, hammock in the palapahut, exquisite flowers on the well kept property and incredible ocean and sunset views were all so enticing that it was sometimes difficult to leave 'home' to explore the nearby area (but there's lots to see and do!). A particularly nice house feature was the screened porch/dining area with kitchen bar pass through. We enjoyed many morning and evening meals on the porch, entertained by nature's sights and sounds and an occasional visit by Bertie, the friendly neighborhood dog, We also enjoyed getting to know Neil, the property manager, who was always quickly responsive to our various inquiries before and throughout our stay. A return trip here would be great!

A Week to Remember
We (4 women) arrived after dark and the next morning when I awoke and looked out to the view, surpassed by none, I was in awe!! Being that you are about 3 miles up on the side of the mountain you can see many miles down to the south on the Pacific coast. The view includes "whale's tail" "three sisters" rock formation and further. The house is fantastic! Three levels with many windows and views from every level. The cupola on the top was a fun and cozy room with windows all the way around. A perfect room to hear the howler monkeys in the early morning. There is a bedroom on every level, with 2 bedrooms on the second level. The grounds are impeccable with the most gorgeous exotic plants with flowers blooming everywhere. Perched on the side of the mountain there are many levels for exploring the vegetation and being a gardener myself I truly enjoyed all the plants. I even saw exotic flowers blooming that I had never seen before. The infinity pool leaves no desire for anything better! It is L shaped and large enough to swim your daily laps if you are so inclined. Even in the pool you have the perfect view of the Pacific. The thatched roof gazebo with its hammock gives you the idilic location for reading a book, napping, enjoying the sunrise or just relaxing. Again with the amazing view of the ocean. Neil, the caretaker, is fantastic with information about anything or anywhere you would like to go. He is only a few miles away and willing to help with whatever your needs are. This location in Costa Rica was something I put to the top of the list in locations I have visited around the world. You should see for yourself!

Heaven on earth!
Our Christmas vacation to Costa Rica was better than we could have ever dreamed! Our crew of four adults and three children spent the week in absolute awe. Every inch of this property, the view, and the experience was absolutely "over the top". We began our days soaking up the sunrise poolside, from the palapa hut and from the screened in porch. Without leaving the property we were blessed with heavenly views and enjoyed breathe taking interactions with the local wildlife. From the luxury of the property we observed macaws, toucans, howler monkeys, blue morpho butterflies, sloths and oddly enough our favorite local "bertie" the dog. Neil the property manager was beyond helpful in setting up excursions and made himself available to answer any questions that we had regarding the local area. Each day we had to drag ourselves away from the heavenly property to explore the beaches, zip line through the rainforest, whale and dolphin watch, or to take an adventurous horseback ride to waterfalls. Our family is forever changed having experienced the simplicity of uninterrupted family time, the magnificence of Casa Las Terrazas and all that Costa Rica had to offer. Details of this trip make their way into our daily conversations and our hearts ache to return. We will be back for sure~ Pura Vida!

A beautiful house in a beautiful country!!
There were 5 of us traveling together staying at Casa Las Terrazas. We were very comfortable throughout the duration of our 10 days there. The 3rd floor loft/bedroom with the 360 degree view of the surrounding rainforest & ocean was perfect for watching the toucans fly from tree to tree every morning and evening. The kitchen was well used as we prepared meals for the house almost every evening and enjoyed dinner out in the screened in patio. The pool was amazing! We enjoyed relaxing and cooling off while frequently commenting on the "postcard" view of the Pacific Ocean below. The property manager was very helpful and always available to provide helpful information and assist us with scheduling activities such as surfing, zip lining, diving and whitewater rafting. I highly recommend Casa Las Terrazas and Costa Rica to anyone considering it as a vacation destination!

A Dream Come True
Going to Costa Rica had long been a dream of mine, but I never dreamed that when I did go I would stay at such a incredible place. Casa las Terrazas was everything, and more than, I could have ever imagined. Everything I needed or wanted during my stay (including home amenities) was right there at my fingertips. Great location for dining (Tortilla Flats and Maracatu) ... going to the beach ... shopping ... going on adventurous excursions (Cuahaya Waterfall and Hacienda Baru) ... going for a run/walk. But, by far, the best part of my stay was simply spending time at the house. The owner's vision for creating a serene hideaway is nothing short of genius ... helped by the hand of God. I spent a good part of my vacation swinging in the strategically-placed hammack, looking out on the lush green of the natural landscape, watching the waves crash against the shore and all the while listening to the gentle rushing sounds of the property's waterfall. Pure Heaven! Pura Vida! I've already convinced my brother and sisters that Casa las Terrazas should be the site for our next family reunion in 2011. Until then ... I will continue to visit Costa Rica and Casa las Terrazas in my dreams.

My Fabulous Vacation
If you are looking for a South Pacific scenic getaway, the view from this house is AMAZING! We arrived in the dark and while it was raining, so it was difficult to see much of anything. The next morning, as I came down the stairs, I could see large expanses of the open water through the large windows. The visual pleasure only increased when I finally arrived in the back yard. There, I could believe that I was seeing the entire Costa Rican coastline. We had arrived in Paradise. The house was spacious, immaculate and comfortable. I loved the cross ventilation and ceiling fans. The pool is amazingly relaxing and beautifully maintained. The waterfall in front is positively enchanting. It is the perfect rain forest, mountain home! The house manager was more than helpful. He was extremely informational, and I found his advice extremely accurate as to the town of Dominical. I highly recommend this vacation spot to anyone looking for a beautiful, quiet, relaxing, exotic getaway. I hope to get back there again.

Casa Las Terrazas...a Costa Rican Paradise
The house in Costa Rica was lovely, the property was amazing. There is a waterfall on the property, it rained one day for about three hours, so we got the most serene water noise for the rest of the afternoon, while laying out at the pool. The view every morning just out the patio was awsome...and just breath taking. No doubt, we had picked the right place, for a vacation. Escaleras was extremely friendly and helpful. We never had a communication problems, it was a native and English speaking community. This home was pleasant and comfortable, like a private getaway from home in, Costa Rica. There were five of us and we had plenty of room. We cooked several days there and the kitchen is well equiped. The pool was a great advantage, on the days where we just wanted to lounge around. Neal Harding, the property manager is very close by and was very helpful and friendly. He gave us direction, as to what we were interested in doing, and pointed out the best local eateries. I had a great time in Costa Rica. It was truely a pleasant experience, and the house was wonderful, you felt right at home. I would love to re-visit Costa Rica, and this property, it is very inviting

Costa Rica - Paradise
If you are looking to get away from it all, you need not look any further. Private, safe, gated in a lush rainforest. The most breathtaking panoramic view of Whales Tale and mountains...from the infinity pool. Waking each morning to the sounds of birds, monkeys... Sitting each morning with coffee to the most spectacular view from screened porch. Great breeze to enjoy dining any time of day. Very spacious home to accomodate up to 4 couples (sleeps up to 8 comfortably) Don't forget this home has a full washer/dryer...so pack light. House has all linens too. Nothing to be disappointed with...come as you are and stay as long as you like! I highly recommend Casa Las Terrazas to anyone desiring all the comforts of home...only better!

looking for the real Costa Rica experience
If you’re looking for the real Costa Rica experience then you have picked the right place. The neighborhood of Escaleras will give you a very good feel for the country. It has a good variety of native and English specking community to give you a clear idea of day-to-day life in this part of world. This is a home away from home in Costa Rica. Well located just above the town of Dominical and close enough to all the recreational things one would like to do when on vacation. There was plenty of room for our family of five to each have their own bedroom and a well-equipped kitchen that any chef would find convenient. The large pool kept us all cool and entertained on the days where we just wanted to lounge around. Don’t speak Spanish, no problem. The manager of the home is only a phone call away. He has a great relationship with most of the local businesses and can direct you to the best places for local activities and entertainment. We had a great time all day long and had a true home to retire to at night to review our day and plan the next. We would rent this home again without hesitation. We can’t wait for our next holiday to Costa Rica.
